Two miles, two miles run without walking! Is it sad that I am REALLY excited about that?
I am not sure if I still have kneecaps and I can't stoop down to pick up anything on the floor, but I feel a huge sense of accomplishment!
Today I bought a kettlebell to work on some strength training, too. I have been doing planks and some core work also.
Now, my dear audience, what suggestions do you have for songs to run to? I have been using Sirius Radio's PUMP station, but it is actually too slow for me. I need some upbeat, motivational songs to put on my MP3 player.
Who knew not being able to stoop down would be such a great feeling!?! :) I love that feeling then I know I've done a great job! Music...well what I've found for myself was that I had to find music that I connected with the lyrics it didn't matter if it was fast or slow I just needed it to help me fall into pace so I would forget about everything except the road under my feet. A few songs that I put on my marathon play list were the following (don't judge I have not gone gangsta I just connected with the lyrics and beat) ok...maybe a little gangsta :) "Till I Collapse" Eminem & Nate Dogg, "Loose Yourself" Eminem, "Run This Town" Jay-Z, "Move Bitch" Ludacris, "Are you Ready" Creed. Not sure if they'll work for you. Can't wait till you visit, you will have to pack so we can get at least one run in and maybe a good hike at Red Rock and Mt. Charleston.
ReplyDeleteGo Cristin! I am proud of you! I've been hitting the treadmill too but I am taking things slow with the Couch to 5K program :) I love listening to Taylor Swift and Johnny Cash. Kind of random, but Johnny Cash has good beats that I find easy to run with. Taylor is just a favorite :) I need suggestions too, so let me know what you come up with! I miss you on Facebook!
ReplyDeleteGood for you, Ange! Do you have a race you want to run in or just using the plan to get started? I do like some Johnny Cash!! Have you heard Chris Tomlin's "I Will Follow"? I like running to that one too. I am sure I will be back on FB someday. I just needed to unplug for a while! :)
